The Relationship between Job Motivation and Emotional Intelligence of the Social Security Organization Staff in Kerman Province in 2015

Abstract
The present research is aimed to study and discuss the relationship between the emotional intelligence
and job motivation of the staff of the branches of the Social Security Organization in Kerman province.
The statistical society of the research includes 671 individuals consisted of all the staff of the branches
of the Social Security Organization in Kerman province. The research sample size (volume) is assessed
200 individuals. The sampling method used in this research is random categorical method. The research
method is of analytical and descriptive type; besides, the method used for data collection is a
combination of library and field methods. In order to test and measure the emotional intelligence and
job motivation of the staff we used a standard questionnaire. Data analysis was performed by means of
SPSS software. To study the relationship between the emotional intelligence and job motivation
variables the Pierson correlation coefficient was used. The results obtained from the Pierson correlation
test showed that there is a direct and meaningful relationship between emotional intelligence and job
motivation in the staff of the branches of the Social Security Organization in Kerman. Furthermore,
among the components of the emotional intelligence variable, the emotions control component has the
most effect on the job motivation and other components including emotions perception, social skills,
and optimism have, respectively, most effects.
